Electric potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003637
The work required per unit of charge to move a charge from a defined reference point to a specific position within an electric field without producing an acceleration. It represents the potential energy per unit charge associated with a static electric field. Electric potential is a scalar quantity measured in volts (V), where one volt is equivalent to one joule per coulomb.
