Joule

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006289

The derived unit of energy or work in the International System of Units (SI). One joule represents the energy transferred when a force of one newton is applied over a displacement of one meter in the direction of the force. It is also equivalent to the work required to produce one watt of power for one second, or one coulomb of electric charge passing through a potential difference of one volt.
