Force
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004588
An external influence that causes a change in the motion of a body with mass, described as the rate of change of momentum. According to Newton's second law, force is equal to the mass of an object multiplied by its acceleration. The SI derived unit of force is the newton (N), where 1 N = 1 kg·m·s⁻².
