Weight

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012668

The force exerted on an object due to gravity, which is the product of its mass and the local acceleration of free fall. Unlike mass, which is an intrinsic property, weight is dependent on the gravitational field. The SI unit of weight is the newton (N).
