Standard acceleration of free fall

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011279

The nominal value of the acceleration due to gravity at the Earth's surface, adopted as a standard for scientific and engineering purposes. This value is used in many calculations where the local gravitational acceleration is not precisely known or when a conventional value is sufficient. It is defined as 9.80665 meters per second squared.
