Centrifugal acceleration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001795

The acceleration experienced by a particle moving in a circular path, directed away from the center of rotation. This force is responsible for separating components of a mixture based on their mass and density in a centrifuge. It is typically expressed in multiples of the standard acceleration of gravity (g).
