Centrifugal force
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001797
The apparent force that acts outward on a body moving in a circular path, relative to the rotating frame of reference. This force is equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the centripetal force that keeps the object in its circular motion. In centrifugation, this force drives the separation of particles from a fluid.
