Moment of a force

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007532

A measure of the tendency of a force to cause rotation about a specific point or axis. It is calculated as the product of the magnitude of the force and the perpendicular distance from the point or axis to the line of action of the force. The SI unit for the moment of a force is the newton meter (N m).
