Moment of inertia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007533
A measure of an object's resistance to changes in its rotational motion, analogous to mass in linear motion. It depends on the mass distribution of the object relative to the axis of rotation. For a point mass, it is the product of the mass and the square of its distance from the axis, with SI units of kg m^2.
