Rotational term
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013515
A component of the total energy of a molecule that arises from its rotation around its center of mass. These terms are quantized and depend on the molecule's moment of inertia and rotational quantum number. Rotational terms are typically expressed in units of wavenumber (cm⁻¹).
