Derived coherent unit
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003047
A unit of measurement formed by combining base units according to the algebraic relations linking the corresponding quantities, without introducing any numerical factors other than one. These units are part of a coherent system of units, such as the International System of Units (SI). For instance, the unit of force, the newton (N), is a derived coherent unit defined as kg·m·s⁻².
