Tesla

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011888

The SI derived unit of magnetic flux density, represented by the symbol T. One tesla is defined as the magnetic flux density that produces a force of one newton per meter on a wire carrying a current of one ampere, when the wire is perpendicular to the magnetic flux density vector. This unit is equivalent to one weber per square meter (Wb/m²) or, in SI base units, kg⋅s⁻²⋅A⁻¹.
