Joint effect

The combined biological response resulting from simultaneous or sequential exposure to two or more chemical agents. This effect can be additive, where the combined effect equals the sum of individual effects, or interactive. Interactive effects are either synergistic, where the combined effect is greater than the sum of the individual effects, or antagonistic, where it is less than the sum.
