Synergist
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011762
A substance that enhances the effect of another substance when both are present, even if the synergist itself has little or no direct effect at the concentration used. This interaction leads to a combined effect greater than the sum of their individual effects. For example, piperonyl butoxide acts as a synergist for pyrethrin insecticides.
