Combined effect of poisons

The overall biological response resulting from exposure to two or more toxic substances simultaneously or sequentially. This effect can be additive, where the total response equals the sum of individual responses, or synergistic, where the combined effect is greater than the sum. It can also be antagonistic, where one substance reduces the toxicity of another.
