Returned effect of poisons

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010309

A heightened response to a poison, in which the dose-effect curve shifts so that a given dose acts more strongly after the organism has been exposed repeatedly to progressively smaller doses. The same dose that once produced little effect then produces a clear one, which is the reverse of tolerance, where repeated exposure weakens the response.
