Poole-Frenkel effect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009263
The phenomenon where the electrical conductivity of an insulator or semiconductor increases significantly in the presence of a strong electric field. This effect is attributed to the field-assisted thermal emission of electrons from traps into the conduction band. It is often observed in polymeric materials used in electronic devices.
