Photoelectrical effect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008853
The emission of electrons from a material when light shines on it. This effect occurs when photons with sufficient energy strike the surface, causing electrons to be ejected. The kinetic energy of the emitted electrons depends on the frequency of the incident light, not its intensity.
