Lumiphore
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006814
A molecular structural unit responsible for the emission of light through luminescence. This group contains the electrons that are excited and subsequently relax, releasing energy as photons. The specific arrangement of atoms and bonds within the lumiphore dictates the wavelength and intensity of the emitted light.
