Chemically initiated electron exchange luminescence

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001977

A type of chemiluminescence where light emission results from an electron transfer reaction between two radical ions or excited species. This process generates an excited state that subsequently emits a photon. It is often observed in solutions containing an oxidant and a reductant, leading to light production.
