Chemically-modified electrode

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001978

An electrode whose surface has been intentionally altered by attaching a layer of chemical species to impart specific chemical, electrochemical, or physical properties. This modification can enhance selectivity, sensitivity, or stability for particular analytes or reactions. The modifying layer can consist of polymers, self-assembled monolayers, or biomolecules.
