Electrode

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003668

An electrical conductor that makes contact with a non-metallic part of an electrical circuit, such as an electrolyte, semiconductor, or vacuum. It serves as the site where electron transfer reactions occur, either gaining or losing electrons. Electrodes are fundamental components of electrochemical cells, batteries, and sensors.
