Chronopotentiometric constant

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002070

An empirically evaluated quantity equal to the current density multiplied by the square root of the transition time and divided by the bulk concentration of the electroactive species. By the Sand equation it equals half the product of the number of electrons, the Faraday constant and the square root of pi times the diffusion coefficient, so electrode area and applied current drop out. It is used to obtain diffusion coefficients or concentrations from transition times.
