Chronocoulometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002069

An electrochemical analysis technique in which the total charge that passes through an electrode is measured as a function of time following a step change in the electrode's potential. The charge is obtained by integrating the current that flows during the experiment. A plot of the cumulative charge versus the square root of time yields a straight line whose slope is proportional to the analyte concentration according to the integrated Cottrell equation.
