Transition time
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012243
The duration from the start of electrolysis at a constant current until the concentration of the electroactive species at the electrode surface effectively drops to zero. This time is observed in chronopotentiometry, where a sudden change in electrode potential indicates the depletion of the species being reduced or oxidized. It is directly related to the concentration of the analyte by the Sand equation.
