Genetically modified organism

An organism whose genetic material has been altered through biotechnological methods, rather than through traditional breeding. This modification involves introducing, deleting, or modifying specific genes to achieve desired traits. The resulting organism is often referred to as transgenic if genes from another species are incorporated.
