Isotopically modified

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006254

A chemical substance in which the isotopic composition of one or more elements deviates from the natural isotopic abundance. This modification can involve enrichment in a specific isotope or depletion of another. Such compounds are used extensively as tracers in chemical reactions and biological processes to study reaction mechanisms or metabolic pathways.
