Isotopic abundance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006239
The proportion of atoms of one isotope among all the atoms of an element in a given mixture, written as a fraction. It applies to any sample, natural or enriched, whereas natural abundance is the terrestrial average value. For example, carbon-12 makes up about 98.9% of natural carbon atoms and carbon-13 about 1.1%.
