Relative atomic mass

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010135

The average mass of atoms of an element, considering the isotopic abundance, compared to 1/12th the mass of a carbon-12 atom. This value is a weighted average of the masses of all naturally occurring isotopes of an element. It is a dimensionless quantity, often closely approximated by the mass number of the most abundant isotope.
