Unified atomic mass unit
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012428
A standard unit of mass for expressing the masses of atoms, molecules, and subatomic particles, symbolized as 'u'. It is defined as exactly one-twelfth of the mass of a single, unbound carbon-12 atom in its nuclear and electronic ground state. The value of the unified atomic mass unit is approximately 1.660539 x 10^-27 kilograms.
