Uniaxial sample
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012427
A material in which the constituent molecules or structural units are preferentially oriented along a single direction. This alignment results in anisotropic physical properties, meaning they vary depending on the direction of measurement. Liquid crystals and stretched polymer films are common examples of uniaxial samples.
