Orientation parameter

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008326

A quantitative measure describing the average alignment of anisotropic structural units, such as polymer segments or crystallites, within a material. It is typically derived from spectroscopic or scattering techniques, indicating the degree of preferred directionality. This parameter ranges from -0.5 for perpendicular alignment to 1.0 for perfect parallel alignment relative to a reference direction.
