Parallel-chain crystal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008446
A crystalline structure in polymers where the individual polymer chains are aligned predominantly parallel to each other within the crystal lattice. This arrangement is common in highly oriented fibers and films, contributing to their anisotropic mechanical properties. The chains can be fully extended or contain regular folds, but their overall orientation is parallel.
