Packing of chain stems
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008415
The arrangement of the relatively straight, extended segments of polymer chains within the crystalline regions of a semicrystalline polymer. These chain stems align in an ordered fashion to form crystal lattices, contributing to the material's density and mechanical strength. The specific packing arrangement, such as parallel or folded, influences the overall morphology of the polymer.
