Antidirectional packing
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000675
A specific arrangement of polymer chains within a crystalline structure where adjacent chains or chain segments are oriented in opposite directions. This packing motif is observed in certain polymer crystals and influences their overall symmetry and physical properties. It contrasts with directional packing, where all chains are oriented similarly.
