Liquid-phase loading
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006698
The mass fraction of the liquid stationary phase within the packing material of a gas-liquid chromatography column. It is calculated by dividing the mass of the liquid phase by the total mass of the packing, which is the sum of the liquid phase and the solid support. This value influences the retention characteristics and separation efficiency of the column, with loadings commonly ranging from 1% to 15% by weight.
