Loading of a property
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006728
The weight showing how strongly an original variable, such as a molecular descriptor, contributes to a given component in principal component analysis or to a latent variable in partial least squares. Descriptors with large absolute loadings dominate that component, so loadings reveal which properties drive differences among compounds in a QSAR data set. The loadings are the coefficients of the linear combination that forms the component.
