Packing

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008414

The solid material that fills a chromatographic column, serving as the stationary phase or as a support for the stationary phase. This material can be porous, non-porous, or pellicular, and its properties influence the separation efficiency and capacity of the column. Common packing materials include silica, alumina, and polymeric resins.
