Non-parallel-chain crystal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013339
A crystalline structure in polymers where the polymer chains are not aligned parallel to each other within the crystal lattice. This arrangement contrasts with more common parallel chain packing found in many crystalline polymers. Such structures can arise from specific molecular architectures or crystallization conditions, influencing the material's mechanical and optical properties.
