Crystal lattice defect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002754
Any deviation from the perfect periodic arrangement of atoms or molecules in a crystalline solid. These defects can be point defects (e.g., vacancies, interstitial atoms), line defects (e.g., dislocations), or planar defects (e.g., grain boundaries). They significantly influence the mechanical, electrical, and optical properties of crystalline polymers.
