Dislocation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003295
A type of linear crystallographic defect within a polymer material, representing an irregularity in the crystal lattice structure. This defect occurs when planes of atoms are misaligned or shifted relative to each other. Dislocations influence the mechanical properties of polymers, such as their strength and ductility.
