Twinned polymer crystal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012368
A polymer crystal composed of two or more individual crystals that are intergrown in a symmetrical fashion, sharing some lattice points or planes. This intergrowth occurs in a specific crystallographic orientation, resulting in a composite structure with distinct boundaries between the individual crystal components. The twinning operation relates the orientations of the individual crystals.
