Polymer single crystal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009187
A discrete crystalline particle of a polymer in which the crystallographic orientation is uniform throughout its entire volume. These are grown from dilute solutions and consist of chain-folded lamellae, where polymer chains fold back and forth to form a thin, plate-like structure. The thickness of these lamellae is on the order of 10 to 20 nanometers.
