Subsidiary lamellae
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011522
Thin, plate-like crystalline structures that form within a polymer, growing from the surfaces of dominant lamellae. These structures are typically thinner and less perfectly ordered than the dominant lamellae from which they originate. They contribute to the overall crystallinity and mechanical properties of the polymer material.
