Paddlanes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008416
Tricyclic saturated hydrocarbons in which two bridgehead carbon atoms are joined by four bridges, giving a shape like a paddle wheel when viewed along the axis through the bridgeheads. They are named paddlanes with four numbers, m, n, o and p, giving the number of carbons in each bridge, and they become propellanes when one bridge has zero carbons, leaving only three bridges.
