Orientational disorder
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008327
A state in a crystalline or semicrystalline polymer where the constituent molecules or their segments lack a uniform alignment, despite maintaining some positional order. This disorder can arise from rotational freedom or random orientations of side groups within the crystal lattice. It affects the material's mechanical and optical properties.
