Configurational disorder
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002405
A structural disorder in a polymer crystal in which different configurational repeating units, for example units of opposite configuration, occupy equivalent lattice positions in a statistical mixture. It is a property of the crystal, not the stereoirregularity of a single chain. It is one of several crystal disorder types, listed beside conformational disorder, where identical units adopt different conformations, and chain-orientational disorder.
