Director
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003272
A unit vector that describes the average orientation of the long axes of molecules in an anisotropic fluid, such as a liquid crystal. It indicates the preferred direction of molecular alignment within a domain. The director field can vary spatially and is influenced by external fields or surface interactions.
