Uniform corrosion

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013679

A form of corrosion that occurs evenly over the entire exposed surface of a material, resulting in a relatively consistent thinning of the material. This type of corrosion is characterized by a relatively predictable rate of material loss. It is often measured by the average penetration rate in millimeters or mils per year.
