Corrosion rate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002611
The speed at which a material deteriorates due to corrosion, typically expressed as a loss of mass per unit area per unit time or as a decrease in thickness per unit time. This rate is influenced by factors such as temperature, pH, and the concentration of corrosive species. Common units include millimeters per year (mm/yr) or mils per year (mpy).
